About the closing hours of the facilities:
In December, January, February, and March, closing hours are moved forward by 30 minutes.
In May, August, October, and November, closing hours are moved backward by 30 minutes.
On November 14, 2007, Owakudani Tourism Center passed an assessment conducted by the Japan Audit and Certification Organization (JACO) and received certification under ISO 14001: 2004, the international standard for environmental management. With “Human- & environment-friendly facility” as its motto, the center has been working to use the natural environment effectively, trying to reduce numbers of broken eggs and the use of shopping bags by making and selling Kuro-tamago (boiled eggs). Now that it has obtained the certification, the center will work to further enhance these activities.
